Jeffrey Mandell, JD, MBA, has a richly diversified professional career, spanning over 20 years, during which he has creatively led companies through periods of change and transition, including new business startups, operational turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions, and raising capital. As a lawyer, entrepreneur, and investment banker, Mandell has participated in over a billion dollars’ worth of transactions across a variety of industries.

Mandell has recently accepted the position as CEO at Arbitration Place. Before joining Arbitration Place, Mandell spent the last eight years as Managing Director of Corporate Finance and M&A at Fuller Landau. There, his clients benefited from his ability to form strategic partnerships, his negotiating skills, and the logic, intuition, and resiliency he employed to see transactions through to a successful close. Prior to his role in investment banking, he spent over a decade as an entrepreneur—launching, operating, and consulting on a host of entrepreneurial ventures in hospitality, event management, design, technology, real estate, and consumer packaged goods.

One of his notable entrepreneurial achievements was envisioning, creating, and operating a bold new lounge and restaurant concept called Lobby in 2003, which became the #1 supper club and celebrity draw in Toronto for five straight years. As CEO, he secured the equity financing, managed and led over 100 employees, exceeded revenue projections by 40% in the first year, and struck lucrative deals with MGM Studios, Lionsgate Films, and DreamWorks for the Toronto International Film Festival. In 2009, he led the company to a successful exit.

Mandell began his career practicing law as an Associate in the areas of Corporate Finance, Securities, and M&A with one of Canada’s leading law firms, Oslers, after graduating from the joint MBA/Juris Doctor program at the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall Law School. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association.
